Sepulcher of the Dean Alonso Sánchez, St. John Church, Palenzuela

ESP Sepulcro del Dean Alonso Sánchez, ubicado en la capilla de San Andrés de la iglesia de San Juan de Palenzuela (Palencia, Castilla y León, España). Este sepulcro está realizado en un momento transicional entre el gótico final y el Renacimiento (1507), que en España dió en llamarse plateresco por el uso de filigranas decorativas, normalmente de tipo vegetal, que recuerdan a los trabajos de platería.

ENG Sepulchre of Dean Alonso Sánchez, located in the chapel of San Andrés in the church of San Juan de Palenzuela (Palencia, Castilla y León, Spain). This sepulchre is from a transitional period between the late Gothic and the Renaissance (1507), which in Spain came to be known as Plateresque due to the use of decorative filigree, usually of a vegetal type, reminiscent of silversmith’s work.
